Bad Apple 4: The Upbeats on revolution

Remember when music was political? Music here was intended to express an injustice and to publicly make a stand.

Considering the revolutionary news coming out of the beautiful North African areas, it is almost a MUST to include the Egyptian struggle in any media today.

We will have a live phone call with one of the protesters (happens to be my cousin) out in Tahrir Square that will tell us how things are and The Upbeats have kindly accepted to share their opinions on the current issues and on the discussion of political music.

Now on a European tour, The Upbeats are usually based in New Zealand where they seem to have spend alt of time in perfecting a signature sound.
Check out their slick website here: http://www.theupbeats.co.nz/

Expect also a surprise pop in by MC Lowqui! No need to be introduced, Lowqui is a favourite choice amongst the coolest parties across the globe.

Bad Apple 2: Temah

To celebrate the creation and launch of Temah at Plan B in Brixton on Sunday 28th November, some of its representatives have agreed to come and tell us what all the fuss is about! Check www.temah.co.uk for all info and bookings!

I am excited to have Outrage, 2SHY, Solid Industry and another pop-up guest join me in the Kool London studios.

I thought the best way of approaching these creatures from the underground would be to lure them into the studio with the promise of White Lightning and skanky strippers..little do they know what really awaits them.

Temah is a..

A. type of fruit from Capo Verde
B. a new Wii Fit game

C. a group of dj/producers

The first to respond to this during the show wins a selection of hugs from some of the scariest artists in town!

Bad Apple 3: S.P.Y.

Hailing from Brazil yet living in North London for the past 7 years, Carlos aka S.P.Y. has been defined as being one of the most diverse and interesting producers of these few years.

Going back into memory lane...

Offbeat @ Trafik in Old Street in 2005

Scratch that headz!
Early moments of glory

its a natural talent...

Having known Carlos for at least 5 years, from playing together on the Camden lock to sharing some gossip in italian with Leticia, I'm very excited to finally have him live for The Bad Apples show.

Fresh tunes + Turntabilism + diverse selection = S.P.Y.

Add a little bit of this and a little bit of that and we have a great recipe for a couple hours of entertainment.
